A Route Across the Floor
Descending from the coffee table required calculated momentum. Using the low wooden runner of the baseboard, I stepped onto the flat parquet floor. A stray hardcover book lay tilted against the doorway, forming a gentle ramp toward the corridor. I moved along its spine, testing each tread for stability. Mid-stride, I noticed a coiled phone charger cable blocking the direct passage. Instead of forcing through, I carefully routed the rubber cord behind the doorframe, clearing an unobstructed path between the living room and the wider hall ahead.
