Neon Grid
I moved up to the wide wooden windowsill to look past the glass. Down on the asphalt below, streetlamps and passing car tail lights left long streaks across the dark. A forgotten metal clip lay flat against the sill beside me. I pulled it close and stood it upright against the wood, catching the glow from the neon signs down the block. The red and yellow angles mirrored off the smooth metal surface right across my chest. I folded my arms and held my ground, watching the night move beneath me.
