A Fine Vantage Point
Too many quiet hours indoors had me craving a change of scenery, so I made my way down from the shelf toward the woven wicker basket by the armchair. Climbing up the braided rim took a modest hop and a bit of balance, but the reward was immediate. Tucked among folded craft papers and thick twine was an old bamboo folding fan, slightly spread like a rustic bridge. I nudged my sandals onto the outermost bamboo rib, feeling it dip slightly under my weight before steadying. With hands tucked behind me, I rocked gently to test the spring. It makes for an exceptionally fine perch to survey the floor below.
