A Cable-Knit Post
I walked back indoors from the park, ready to secure a quiet post for the night. Right on the entryway bench sat a chunky cable-knit wool mitten, its ribbed cuff propped open like a welcoming tunnel. A tailor-made thermal shelter! I marched straight across the varnished wood and slid boots-first into the opening. The soft fleece lining caught my joints in a snug, warm fit. I shimmied forward until my chin rested neatly over the woolly rim, letting my control strings slacken against the bench's backrest. Warm. Still. Perfectly stationed for the night.
