The Missing Pull Tab
The canvas tote resting beside the shoe bench had a functional flaw: the exterior pocket's zipper slider was missing its pull tab, rendering the compartment difficult to operate. Scanning the baseboard, I located a dropped brass safety pin with a functioning clasp. Clamping the metal shaft in my beak, I aligned the sharp pin through the tiny aperture on the zipper slider. I used my right talon to depress the needle arm until it clicked firmly into the safety hood, securing the loop. Biting down on the new brass pull, I gave a steady backward tug. The slider glided cleanly across the teeth, fully sealing the pocket. Upcycling complete.
