A Bed in the Basket
I carried my favorite blue ribbon in my mouth, padding softly across the carpet toward an open woven basket by the armchair. Peeking over the rim, I saw it was filled with neatly folded knit blankets. I dropped my ribbon inside, scrambled gently over the thick braided edge, and settled down into the soft center. Tucking my ribbon under my chin, I nudged a fluffy corner of wool over my back until I was completely enveloped in warmth. It felt like the perfect secret nest for the night.
