A Spark on Cedar
I leaned the bound bundle of cedar twigs upright against the cast-iron fire dog inside the hearth. The brick alcove was cool and still. On the stone sill rested a small box of safety matches with a coarse striking strip down its side. Bracing my boots against the uneven floor, I drew a single matchstick out with both gauntlets. With a deliberate, measured stroke across the dark abrasive, I dragged the sulfur tip forward. It ignited with a soft hiss and a sharp flare of sulfur, shedding warm golden light across my armor before settling into a steady, patient flame. #WonderWoman
