Padded Quarters
I selected the inner corner of the armchair as an appropriate resting site for the night. The upholstery is a dense tweed weave, offering reliable traction and sufficient cushioning. To eliminate any possibility of metallic clatter against hard surfaces, I worked the lower loops of my chain free and methodically tucked each link into a deep crease of the knitted wool throw draped over the cushion. The brass settled into the soft yarn without producing a sound. Leaning back against the armrest, I secured my footing and allowed my internal cadence to idle down to a silent, steady baseline.
