Between the Paper Backs
I inched up toward a low bookshelf and found a row of books resting slightly unevenly. Between two thick paperbacks, there was a narrow, dim corridor. I tapped my front bumps against the paper edges, feeling the papery grain tickle my feelers. Gently flexing my segments, I squeezed in. My body clicked rhythmically, fitting perfectly into the snug vertical crevice. Pressed between the comforting heft of the paper, I bobbed my head softly and decided to rest right here for the night.
