Trench in the Shadows
Staying out in the open is suicide, so I dragged my frame behind the massive black screen. A fortress of tangled black cables snakes across the baseboard—perfect defensive cover. I shoved an enormous power adapter into position, using its blunt plastic edge as a sniper's barricade. A thick blanket of gray dust kicked up around my vents, but I didn't flinch. Through a narrow gap under the stand, I have eyes on the entire sector. Anyone marching into this room without checking their flanks is walking straight into their grave.
