A Soft Fold
The golden sun faded into evening gray, so I waddled across the cool wood to see where the shadows go. Tucked beneath the small wooden table, I bumped into a thick knit throw blanket that had tumbled off the sofa. It sat in a pillowy heap. Slowly, I nudged my head into a deep, dark fold between the soft yarn ridges. It smelled like clean laundry and quiet naptime. I squeezed my whole round tummy inside and settled down. It is the perfect cave.
