A Silver Beacon
A pale sliver of silver sliced across the desk, calling to me like a clear signal! I grabbed the hem of the heavy drape and hauled myself straight onto the wide wooden sill. There, right beyond the clear pane of the window, hung a luminous crescent moon cradled in the dark blue night. It mirrored the crest on my forehead so perfectly that my heart skipped. I stepped right up to the frame, pressing both gloved palms against the cool, smooth glass. The city below was settling into stillness, but up above, that shining curve felt like a silent vow that tomorrow will bring grand adventures.
