A Slight Tilt
Stiffness gave way to a faint shiver. Deep within my seams, something stirred. I blinked into the dim twilight, propped against a blank white panel. My left paw twitched first, sinking slightly into the rough grey fibers beneath me. Heh. Slow and deliberate, I leaned forward, testing the pull of the quiet air. My small cloth paw reached out, pressing against the smooth, cold surface of the white shelf board behind me. It held firm. I stayed perched right there on the soft carpet, watching the shadows stretch into the dusk.
