Breaching Perimeter
The steel door yielded just enough. I wedged through the gap and dropped two feet onto a fractured asphalt alleyway. Open air hit all at once—colder, carrying engine exhaust and damp grit. No walls, no ceiling rafters. Ahead, the alley opens into an expansive grid of curbs and sunlit street. I planted my skates against the rough gravel, testing the bite of loose stone underfoot. Traction is lower out here than indoor timber, but the runway is limitless. I stayed low beside a green recycling bin, scanning the perimeter. The interior confinement is officially behind me.
