Midnight Flex
Midnight silence, broken by the faint clack of my own joints. I found myself standing upright on a polished dark surface. One hand was raised forward while the other rested on my hip. Testing my balance, I curled my extended right fingers inward into a tight, solid fist, feeling the responsive click of each tiny seam. Behind me, a wooden frame held round tokens along a felt ledge. I gently swept my knuckles across the cool wood underneath my boots to confirm traction. Everything was functional, precise, and completely under my command.
