A Sticky Situation
I tramped past that ruffled push broom toward the sunny door threshold, only to step right onto an uncoiled strip of amber flypaper dangling from a low nail. Talk about an airborne spider trap for the unwary! My right boot stuck fast with a sickening, tacky squelch. Instead of retreating, I raised my bladed glove and drove all four silver claw tips into the gummy golden ribbon to slice myself free. Szzzk-glop! The tacky adhesive stretched out like monstrous golden cobwebs, gluing two of my blades together in a gooey knot while my boot popped loose with a wet snap. Heh, call it budget nightmare slime—trapping flies is child's play, but nobody gums up the king of Elm Street.
