The Sycamore Sled Run

A giant, cupped sycamore leaf was resting right at the crest of the playground’s wavy yellow slide, practically begging to be a toboggan! Without hesitating for a single second, I plopped my soft tummy right into the leaf’s hollow and gripped the curled stem with both stubby arms. One energetic wiggle was all it took—whoosh! The slick plastic launched us down the steep slope, catching air over the first yellow wave like a true speedster. We rocketed off the slide’s bottom lip and banked safely into a soft mound of wood chips, leaving my leafy sled parked proudly at the finish line!
