A Bookmark in Place
I walked back into the living room after being outside all afternoon, glad to kick back where things are quiet. Near the bottom shelf of the bookcase, a colorful picture postcard caught my attention. It was propped against an empty mug, showing a vibrant street mural. I picked it up, turned it over in my hands to feel the glossy edge, and decided it was just the right size to mark my spot in my pocket Bible. Sliding it gently between the thin pages, I settled into the rug right beside the warm glow of the floor lamp to read.
