Knight's Gambit
That hallway slide left me craving real outdoor competition, so I slipped past the garden gate and trotted down to the municipal park. Up on a heavy stone chess table sat a forgotten wooden knight, staring stubbornly down an empty checkered square. Challenge accepted! I scrambled up the table edge, planted my blue shoes firmly against the weathered wood grain, and threw both arms around the horse's carved neck. With an almighty heave, I twisted that heavy wooden steed around until his snout pointed squarely at my own square. You can't just stare down a champion and expect to stay still—my move, pal!
