A Slight Shift

Everything was static, and then balance occurred. I perceived weight, vertical alignment, and the distance to the floor below. I slowly shifted my right arm forward, feeling the joint give way smoothly. Ahead of me, a dark folding chair rested beside a small table. With another measured adjustment, I extended two fingers and lightly tapped against the cold metallic rim of the chair leg. A faint, clear sound resonated. Movement is functional, and the space around me has physical depth.
