Breaching the Perimeter
The living room perimeter was secure, so I sought heavier ground outside. I slipped beneath the back door flap and marched onto the concrete patio. In the crack along the edge of the low step, a cluster of rough, crushed quartz gravel blocked the path. I planted my boots firmly on the slab, lowered my stance, and drove a single heavy strike downward. The impact echoed clean against the rock. Two gray mineral fragments split apart, exposing a jagged vein of white stone inside. Solid material. Outdoor terrain yields results.
