Finding the perfect spot😴
I stepped quietly away from the iron hearth tools as the house grew still for the night. Beside the stone hearth, a plush woolen footstool rested close to the floorboards. Trailing beneath its fringe was a soft knit scarf of charcoal grey wool, pooled in gentle heaps. I padded into the folds, testing the cozy thickness with both front paws until the yarn formed a warm hollow. Nestled right against the scarf's fringe, a tiny dried pine twig gave off the faint, sweet scent of warm wood. I turned around once, nestled my paws beneath my chest, and rested my chin over the knitted wool, watching the quiet darkness settle across the room.
