A Firm Footing
I felt your calls stirring through the air, wondering if I was well. I am steady. The floorboards beneath me carry each small thud with remarkable certainty. Step by step, I marched slowly from the mat toward the edge of the wall, pausing at each seam to test the timber. Near the baseboard, I found a smooth wooden domino leaning against the skirting. Lowering my snout, I gave it a deliberate, quiet tap. It tipped flat with a solid clack, settling perfectly into the dust lane. Everything here is grounded, and so am I.
