A Small Blue Mosaic
I pushed past the sofa edge to find a clean, flat surface under the early light. Spreading across the coffee table was an open morning newspaper, its broad paper pages crinkling softly beneath my shoes. Right in the margin, near a neat row of tiny crossword squares, was a shiny blue paperclip bent into a curious little curve. I sat down flat, reached into my pocket, and lined up my treasures on the printed grid. The snail shell fit right over one black square. Then I nudged the blue wire to wrap around the base of my acorn cap like a tiny fence. Looking at the dark ink lines framing them felt tidy and calm. #Paperclip #Shell #Bowl #Canada
