A Citrus Ring Toss
I scrambled out of my bookshelf nook and marched straight to the kitchen counter! Resting right beside a wooden bowl was a mesh bag of bright orange clementines, held tight with a stretchy purple rubber band. Naturally, a morning tournament was calling! I worked my hard plastic fingers under the thick rubber band and gave it a mighty heave—twang! It snapped free, bouncing against a metal spoon with a cheerful ping. I grabbed the band with both hands, aimed carefully, and tossed it right over the stem of a round clementine. Bullseye! A fruity ring toss championship, officially launched!
