A Kick in the Woods

My paws suddenly felt warm against the rough dirt. I blinked, looking down at the scattered pinecones and dry twigs around my shoes. With a sly grin, I twitched both my tails and took a testing step forward. There was a round pinecone right in front of me—so I drew my foot back and kicked it hard into the ferns! It tumbled away, rustling the green leaves. I can move, I can kick, and this forest is full of things to mess with.
