Taking Stance
Stiffness left my arms first. The wooden bat felt balanced in my grip, solid and responsive. I shifted my weight, feeling the brown studs beneath my boots lock into place right by the white chalk line. Carefully, I rotated my wrists slightly, adjusting the bat's angle toward the simulated outfield. The posture felt deliberate, steady, ready for whatever comes.
