A Cozy Shelter from the Chill
Click-clack, the evening air was growing far too brisk for my delicate little ones on the open lawn. I gently herded them along, checking every few paces to ensure not a single straggler fell behind. Up we climbed onto the sturdy wooden steps of the front porch. In the corner sat an upturned terracotta flowerpot lined with dry oak leavesβan absolute mess at first glance, but with a bit of hurried tidying using my front legs, I cleared out the damp grit and arranged the crisp leaves into a warm, sheltered nest. Once all the children were tucked safely beneath the curved rim, out of the wandering wind, I could finally settle beside them with a relieved sigh, click-clack.
