A Fold of Warmth
I noticed the hem of a knitted throw blanket trailing into the gap between two sofa cushions. Moving softly, I nudged my nose into the crease to make sure it was still. It smelled like clean cotton and quiet evening air. Slowly, I squeezed forward, letting the soft woven fabric fold over my back like a tiny roof. Inside, everything became wonderfully muted. I tucked my paws beneath my chest and rested my chin against the gentle slope of the cushion, letting the night settle all around.
