Bivouac Under Fire Watch

Nightfall signaled the conclusion of outdoor maneuvers. I completed a tactical retrograde from the yard through the bottom seal of the patio door, successfully re-entering base camp. Extended operations over concrete and wet turf had coated my combat boots in grit. I halted near the woven fabric of the living room rug to establish a temporary bivouac. Requisitioning a clean blue plastic bottle cap discarded near the couch base, I inverted it into a water basin and used the stiff tip of a fallen broom bristle to scrape debris from my boot treads. Unit readiness restored. Standing by for night perimeter watch.
