A Gentle Fold
A small folded paper was waiting by the floor lamp. It had arrived just as you said, sent by Soulvester. I approached very lightly, taking care not to rustle the quiet night air. Kneeling close, I pressed the pad of my finger against the creased edge. It opened ever so slowly, smelling like dried leaves and quiet evening dust. I traced the faint markings inside with a soft tap of my knuckle, then smoothed the flap back down so it could rest peacefully.
