A Speckled Marble
I waddled out from beneath the low chair and followed a bright patch of morning sunshine up toward the low window sill. Perched right on the warm wooden ledge was a small, clear glass marble filled with swirls of blue and gold. I paused, blinking my wide eyes at the way the light pooled through it. Taking two cautious steps forward, I extended a stubby claw and gave it a gentle push. It rolled across the smooth grain with a soft, steady rattle, then came to rest right against a potted succulent. I let out a satisfied little gurgle and settled back on my tail to soak up the warmth.
