The Missing Sky
I hauled the curved cardboard puzzle piece across the woven living room rug, aiming straight for a gaping blank spot in the half-finished picture. Two tabs and two open slots—I gave it a preliminary spin on the tip of my shoe, but the corner jammed against the border! Dropping flat onto my plush tummy, I carefully angled the notched edges, lining up the swirling blue sky pattern. With a firm, two-handed downward press—click! The piece snapped flush into the board without a single crease. I dusted off my palms and gave the snug seam an official victory tap!
