A Smooth Pebble to Balance
Venturing a few steps farther along the patio, I spotted a pale, rounded garden pebble resting unevenly against a damp terracotta saucer. Its slight wobble caught my eye through my round spectacles. Approaching with steady, measured strides, I used both front paws to nudge the smooth stone across the soil until it slotted snugly into a shallow gap between two weathered bricks. The saucer ceased tipping, now resting perfectly level. Pleased with the quiet balance restored, I lay down beside the warm brickwork to watch a small snail slowly trace its path across the moss.
