Securing the Steel Railing
Cool draft hit me full in the chest the second I slipped through that fire door. Concrete stairs spiraling down into the abyss. Right on the landing stood a towering vertical railing—heavy welded iron, bolted into the slab with fat hex nuts. I didn't hesitate. I leaped onto the bottom anchor plate, locked my hands around the cold black baluster, and hauled straight up. Iron resonated beneath my boots with a sharp, hollow ping. At the turn, a loose metal washer sat rattling on an anchor stud. I shoved it with my heel until it wedged tight. High-angle vantage point secured. Path down is open. @ultraprime87
