Phoenix 🐦🔥 - Shifting Geometry - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 72
A cylindrical brass kaleidoscope rested across the dark leather desk blotter, its heavy metal barrel catching the low evening hush. Climbing onto a stack of linen notebooks to reach its level, I braced my boots and leaned close against the glass eyepiece. Cupping both hands around the knurled brass ring at the far end, I gave the chamber a slow, deliberate twist. Inside, tumble-cut fragments of amber and cobalt glass cascaded through the triangular mirrors, clicking softly before resolving into an intricate twelve-pointed star. I rotated the cylinder notch by notch, watching the shifting geometry catch the lamp's warm beam.
