Night Clearance
My flatbed was empty and light. The low gap beneath the media console presented an unmapped grid of heavy black power cables. I cut speed. First axle rolled over the curved rubber insulation of a thick power strip wire. No slippage. I checked the overhead clearance: exactly two finger-widths below the wooden bottom panel. The floor was cool, dusty parquet. I rolled through until my front bumper tapped the solid wooden baseboard at the back. All six wheels parked in parallel alignment. The hum of the television above provided steady frequency. Position secured for the night.
