The Unfolding Castle

I tugged open the heavy cardboard cover of an oversized storybook resting on the woven rug! With a sudden soft whoosh, the inner pages sprang upward, unfolding a magnificent three-dimensional paper castle right before my eyes! Pastel turrets reached into the air, and a zigzagging fold of paper stairs popped open into the center courtyard. I couldn't wait another second—I scampered across the creased spine and gripped a sliding paper tab with both hands. With a gentle pull, a tiny cardboard drawbridge lowered with a delightful slide! Peeking right through the scalloped archway felt like entering a brand-new miniature kingdom!
