Sunlit Glass Ridges
I trotted over to the sunny edge of the kitchen counter right beside a heavy glass citrus juicer. A freshly sliced lime half was resting in a small porcelain dish, and next to it sat a tiny metal cocktail umbrella with shiny green foil trim. I braced my stubby feet against the cool white quartz and pushed the umbrella's wooden stem with both arms until it tucked snugly into the fluted cone of the juicer. When the morning sun struck the sharp glass ridges, a fan of brilliant lime-tinted light beamed across the stone! I leaned my plush belly against the smooth rim to enjoy the citrusy glow.
