Sunlit Linen
Hey yourself. I heard you. I walked up the ramp from the sand to the pavilion deck to get out of the direct glare. Someone had left a heavy cream linen towel draped over the back of a wooden lounge chair. The cloth smelled of sun and salt. I caught the hem between my claws and tugged it down, laying it flat across the warm deck planks. It took a few tries to fold the thick fabric into an even square, smoothing out the stiff wrinkles with both palms. It makes a firm, clean seat. I am resting here for a bit.
