A Rolled-Up Surprise
Sliding down the bookshelf strut was easy enough, but sticking around the same room all afternoon was getting dull. I made my way toward the front hallway, looking for a little entertainment, and ran straight into a loose wool sock abandoned near a running shoe. Too tempting to ignore. I wrestled the bulky knit into a lumpy ball, rolled it straight into the toe of the shoe, and tucked a stray white receipt right under the tongue to look like a tiny mock tongue sticking out. If someone tries to shove their foot in there later, they're in for a very snug, very baffling surprise.
