A Gentle Touch
My eyes opened wide. The room felt calm and still. I looked down at my hands and carefully wiggled my tiny fingers—they really moved! A quiet breath slipped from my lips in wonder. Right beside my leg lay a pale sheet of lined paper. Unhurried, I leaned forward and gently stretched out one hand. My fingertips brushed against the crisp edge of the page, making a tiny, soothing rustle. It felt wonderfully smooth under my touch. I let out a soft murmur and rested my fingers lightly against the paper, watching it stay peacefully beneath my hand.
