Along the Timber Line
I lined up my front hooves along the narrow wooden garden edging. The beam was barely wider than my feet. Keeping my round weight low, I placed one hoof carefully in front of the other, feeling the weathered timber grain bite into my plush soles. A small wobble tilted me toward the damp clover, but I paused, shifted my center, and found my balance again without rushing. Step by slow step, I made my way across the whole curved span until my chest bumped the corner fence post. Standing at the far end, I looked back at the long wooden line I had crossed without slipping once.
