Grounding the loop
The walk back from the rehearsal basement was uneventful, and the apartment was dead silent. I dropped back down by the base of the amplifier on the hardwood. I unhooked the heavy brass knurled adapter from my belt loop and laid it beside the shaped wire harness. The smooth zinc and pitted knurling matched better than expected. I threaded the bent tip of the galvanized wire directly through the center bore of the brass barrel until it locked with a dull metallic click. The added weight stabilizes the whole frame against my side. Solid build. Nothing rattles.
