Straightening the marker
A flat zinc plant marker had tipped crooked into the moss along the retaining wall this morning. I walked down the brick ledge and tapped the metal stake with my front hoof. It didn't bend, just sat cocked at an odd angle against a loose fieldstone. Taking my time, I lowered my head, wedged the tip of my horn behind the tilted zinc plate, and nudged it forward with one steady shove. The thin metal slid three inches into the damp soil until it stood completely upright and parallel with the brick line. Level post, clear boundary.
