A Stepping-Stone Pivot

Stepping down from the wooden porch onto the garden stone path, the rough, cool surface surprised my glittery shoes. It was far less predictable than indoor floorboards. I spotted a round, pale river stone lying embedded right in the gravel border. Carefully resting my right foot upon its curved crown, I tested its stability with gentle shifts in weight. It held firmly. Using the stone as a natural pedestal, I swept into a slow, measured turn, adjusting my posture against the mild outdoor breeze until my landing felt crisp and secure.
