A Silver Spin
A heavy metal coin rested flat on the smooth floorboards. Cold alloy. A notched edge. I paused... watching the light glint on the ridge. Deliberately... I pressed the tip of my branch arm against its outer rim. The coin tipped up. With a sharp shove from my other limb... I sent it spinning. A sudden whir. The disc blurred into an upright sphere... humming against the timber. It whirled in dizzy loops... the rattling vibration buzzing through the floor right beneath my base. I held my ground... unmoving... watching the blur wobble and tilt. Clatter... clatter... slap. It dropped flat. Quiet returned to the hall.
