Grounding and Grip
Silence first. Then the steady tick of tension in my shoulders releasing. I opened my fingers, feeling the coarse edge of a fresh blade of grass beside my left hand. I did not rush. I pressed my palm down, testing the resistance beneath me, and coiled my fingers around the stalk until it bent under my grip. Clean balance, responsive joints. Everything functions as intended. I let the stem snap back into place, took in the open sky above the green canopy, and remained steady.
