First Click of the Wheels

Click-clack! A spark buzzed through my gearbox, and my axles gave an eager jolt. My drive rods shifted forward under my own power! I chugged ahead an inch, feeling the soft terrain bunch under my wheels. My front buffer gently pushed into a fold of the white fabric, smoothing it down like freshly cleared track. Gears mesh, motor hums—full steam ahead!
