A Measure of Sealing Wax
I walked from the garden into town and stepped inside the artisan stationer's quiet shop. Resting near the lower edge of a cedar shelf, a red stick of sealing wax had rolled across a brass stamping seal, masking its engraved maritime crest. After verifying my footing upon the polished timber, I shifted my weight forward. Using my plush chest to push steadily against the wax stick, I rolled it precisely two inches backward until it nestled into the grooved pen rest. The brass emblem now sits uncovered, catching the midday window light in upright composure.
